The Barn to rest B&B is situated in the village of
Oxenhope and within a couple of minutes walk along
the lane, to the Worth Valley Steam Railway Station
where the steam trains operate on a regular basis. The
Barn has beautiful views of the open countryside and
the house where 'The Railway Children' was filmed.
Dating back to 1823 and built of Yorkshire stone, with
deep inset windows, large hall with sweeping staircase,
open fireplace and Country kitchen with beautiful red
Aga giving it a warm and wonderful character.
Leeming waters runs through the peaceful garden
setting, read a book by the pond or take stroll through
the 1.5 acres of natural land to the waterfall and just
watch the local birdlife in this uplifting environment.
Afternoon tea is a must! Enjoy freshly baked scones and
homemade jam in this truly Yorkshire garden.

 

Oxenhope


Oxenhope is a typical country village with local pubs, village shops and great walks on the moors. Access to Haworth home of the Bronte Sisters and its famous Main Street with vast selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes is only 5 mins by bus, 10 mins by train or there is a beautiful walk following Leeming waters from the house through the valley into Haworth which takes approx 25 mins.
Ideal for touring close to Hebden Bridge a quaint town with canal walks, large park and shops just 20 mins by car. Or Saltaire World heritage site the Victoria industrial village and mill built by Titus Salt approx 30mins drive. It's also ideally situated to set out for the day with a pack lunch and head for the pretty rural villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
